    a suggestion for the winch.

head thyself to a boaties place and get one of the 3 speed deck capstans that have the cleat feeds on the top. High speed when you need it, low speed when you need to pull and best of all light, compact and easy to setup so that its removable.

Trailer is looking excellent. I like how you've done the sides, that method brings a lot of rigidity into the trailer. Even with the 4 rails that run down it, they flex heaps, but the sides truss it all up and pull almost all of that flex out again.

On thing though, when we do ours (we do heaps of them each year for Yr12 and the HSC) we dont weld on the top and bottom plates of the drawbar with the exception of the ends (ie coupling plate and the outer chassis rail) but def not where it passes under the front cross member or anywhere near it as thats where the highest stress are. The weld creates a stress point and cracks can (doesn't mean it will) start alongside the weld if the weld is on the top or bottom plate of the drawbar. Thats not to say anything will or wont happen, but just keep an eye on that part of the drawbar to see that nothing starts, or so that you can fix it in time if it does.
    Cheers

Looks great! I would take a guess you may be going to brace the guards more later on .
I have found at a minimum, they need a gusset front and rear pluss a hold me up half way along to last the duration.

Animal strikes and getting a hard bump will be no match to the RHS. The guards also crack or bend if not supported well half way along.
