A friend (?) of mine has a Disco 1 and asked me to make a bonnet mounted spare wheel carrier. He supplied a spare bonnet and after quite a few hours work I came up with this. It has 3mm ally checker plate spread over the top section with the edges folded over to strengthen it to desperse the weight of the wheel over the whole bonnet. It works quite well and feels sturdy but obviously there is an increase in weight. You guessed it, he decided to sell the vehicle despite the money I already spent making it and no longer wants it. It is rubbed back and ready to paint. Any one interested in it?
