    Thanks James,

the truth is I would not have thought of doing it till i saw your project. I also am pretty sure you are going to be more than pleased with your own setup, and if your Tdi condensor is the same as the Td5 one you wont need to upgrade it.

looking forward to following your project thru to completion.

    cheers Don

    Hi Don

I am heading down this route myself using the OEX EVX225 evaporator with a wired digital remote.
Pick it up tomorrow and will then get in touch with Andrew about getting all all the correct bits. My condenser coil and fans are still in place and I have 2 old Sanden compressors that apparently did work just fine. I wonder if they are compatible with the the R134A for which the new unit is designed?

    Sounds good Pete,
The EVX 225 looks about the same size as my Evaporator.
Andrew will steer you on the right path with the compressors, he knows his stuff & well worth a visit before you get stuck into your project.

let us know how it progresses.

Looks great Don. I have the same unit in my 110 and also highly recommend it.

I'm considering a 130 Double Cab. What type/size of evaporator would be required considering this would be half the cabin size of a 110?

jakeslouw, I used an 18000 BTU, 310 cubic ft/min unit in my 130 DC. I'd say it's just right. I wouldn't go any smaller, but having said that I would probably benefit from a better condenser than the standard Tdi one.

See PM. I have some old notes from when the Red Dot was installed on my td5 Defender which I can email if your interested.

    Tim,

Mate I'm about to go down the exact same road - if you still had those notes handy I'd love to get a copy? I'll PM you.

I have a Tdi Defender. I looked everywhere for an ECU and I DID eventually find one...... in a mobile phone.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    A/C hose sizes

Good morning I am trying to do this upgrade as well to my 300tdi 110 station wagon but where I live I they only have #8 and #10 a/c hose, is it possible to use these sizes or I have to use #6?
    Many thanks Robert.
