After years I finally made it and installed my custom aluminum console in the Cube.
The console was made by a clever fabricator/craftsman, Len, in the USA.
He built it to my to my specs (I slightly tweaked his original design) to suit my needs, and it turned out really great.
Installation was straighforward, no drilling nor cutting, and it looks awesome.
I love the all aluminum construction (much better than plastic IMHO) and the modular design, which makes possible to remove each panel without dismantling the whole thing.
On top there's a panel for the 3 VDO gauges to monitor the VNT boost, the oil temperature and the oil pressure.
Below there's a pre-drilled panel to house an extra array of toggle switches should I ever feel the need one day.
Bottom panel, it's been cut to measure for the CB radio.
Design was inspired by U2 and SR71 cockpits, which I love
and the console is as narrow as possible to allow use of vents and leave room as much as possible.
