    D1 Ute TD5 Conversion

After finding a buyer for my running 300 TDI engine, auto and all the bits that go with it. I went on a hunt (around the world) to find a new engine. I found a place in the UK that had all i needed and were happy ship to Aust.

Turn key TD5 engine 39000 Miles (so they say)
Automatic transmission and Transfer case (from the same car)
all the pipe work for power steering, A/C, cooling and fuel
    Fuel tank and pump
    all the looms
    all the ECUs
    interior bits
    mounts

I did have a few issues with lots of bits missing from the first shipment so don't ask for the company i used as i wont mention or recommend them.

    Anyway the fun stuff....

Chassis /engine bay ready for the transplant

I was very lucky to come across someone i knew that had an engine mount jig to do a TD5 conversion. (saved me hours and hours)

Mounts tacked in ready for a test fit

    Only needed 1 test fit.

    more to come....

I have built a mount so i can run a second A/C compressor in place of the ACE pump. Had one on my V8 a few years back and this time round it's pretty high on the wish list.

    main mount

    both A/C units mounted

    ready for a test fit.

Radiator fitting has been pretty easy so far... once i worked out which bit to cut out of the way.

Looks like good quality work there! I particularly like the tidy setup for the second A/C compressor.... More pics?

    small update..

engine back in with pretty much everything bolted on

plenty of room with 2nd A/C mounted. Will be tight but manageable. Engine fan on and sitting in right spot.

My new friend - Jig to line up the tcase mounts

    Auto mounted

    passenger tcase mount

Yep I had the immobiliser function disabled from td5 alive in the uk. I can put the ecu in any td5 and it will start without the injector codes added.
