    window regulator

    Hi All,

Had to buy a new drivers side window regulator for the usual reason of the runner wheels breaking apart, Question - does anyone know if the new ones have an inproved wheel design, as in a stronger plastic material that lasts longer, to look at it it's a different coloured material. The reason I'm asking, I was thinking of modifing the wheels on the new regulator before I put it in, but if it's a better design than the original one I might be wasting my time.

by the way, when the original one jammed in the door and I kept pressing the button to get the window up, the motor bent the regulator so bad I had to cut it out with the angle grinder, the metal folded back over it'self , that's one hell of a gutsy motor!!

    cheers

    I'm using brass replacements.

    No issues since.

Can you buy the brass ones, or did you turn / make those yourself?

One of mine is currently metal on metal.

You most certainly can purchase brass runner wheels. I went to Land Vehicle Spares at Silverdale, NSW. $12. Apparently it is a common part to fail.
