The Cowboys will recover... On another note, I too have spent quite some time in the goldsborough valley driving over those rocks. Very bouncy! Beautiful place for a swim and just hang out. I have trekked from the tablelands down to the goldsborough valley with a mate a few times via the remains of the old Cairns coach track. Tough going to say the least on foot! The Wranglers will be good for the wet season if we ever get one. Nice looking Deefer.

WOW !! If it's the track I think you're taking about I ACTUALLY drove it right back when I was 18 strapping around in an old CJ7 Jeep. It was closed less then a year later and the farmer has is chained now as it's access to his property.Quote:

Yeah I know that watercourse fairly well. I have traced it through Gadgarra pine plantation direction and the Lamins hill 'old cairns track' from the tablelands down. There is also a join somewhere that leads to the boulders at Babinda. Lots of exploring as a youth and a not so youth :D.
So not much to say about the build other than I had the bulkhead rust cut out which also reduced the noise from the engine bay - Funny that ...
So here are some photos from this weekend.
I drove out to meet my brother out at Blencoe Falls.
Great weekend .. Too much drink, food and sitting around :cool:
1 - Road is closed from Kennedy (Cardwell), so the only way in is Mt Garnet.
2 - LHT in is 5km past Mt Garnet.
3 - Signs indicate 96km, but we tracked it at 104km.
4 - The national park borders stations and so you won't believe the cattle in the campgrounds. We found they didn't enter any campgrounds, just walked around them.
5 - There are walks to do but the cattle trails make it very hard to stay on track.
6 - There is NO shade ... Take a gazebo or a few tarps and plenty of water.
7 - Photos CAN'T do the falls justice ... Best photo I've seen was from a chopper.
8 - Can only book/pay online.
9 - Very good toilets provided, so we made the effort to walk to them.
Wow that is dry up there. The last time I crossed that bridge there was greenery everywhere. I see you made it to the walking track that leads you to a vantage point where you can look back on the falls. Its a great trek. I took my 2000 disco through there in 2007. We went from Kennedy on the coast and scratched around untill finding the entrance to the track at the end of a canefield headland and headed past the road closed sign as many had done before. We travelled through the area and up to Mt Garnet and on to the tablelands. Beautiful spot. Everywhere is needing rain by the looks of that!!:)
