The Redemption Land Rover bobtailed 110 Build
Have been pestered to get this thread happening as the truck is nearing completion.
As mentioned elsewhere on this forum I bought this Land Rover to build as a project with my teenage son. He then decided as a young teenager he wanted to live elsewhere for 7 months and that living on the street an peoples couches was a better life than being feed, blessed and encouraged by friends and family (he found out the hard way that his idea was majorly floored and came home which is a miracle in itself).
After all that I started to work on the Truck over that time and my sons mates and my nephews decided that they would like to work on the truck and learn some skills along the way. The build then at that point became known as the Redemption Land Rover. To show that every person and every old truck deserves a second chance at life whether we deserve it or not hence the name redemption.
This basis of the truck was EVIL44 in an extremely bad state of bent chassis and disrepair. Oh and rust!!! BAD Rust.
We use what was left of the double cab conversion and sold those parts off to pay for items needed that were missing or tools we didn't have.
We begged borrowed and everything in between to get this truck done. Some suppliers donated items and parts to help keep us going. Some businesses lent us welders for a weekend. One person lent us a MIG Welder that didn't work that we then had to repair. We used it for a short while then they needed it back. We then couldn't get our hands on a big enough welder for about 6 months. The a Tools shop (thats wants to remain anonymous) I used to know chipped in and Supplied us with a Cigweld 250i MIG/TIG/Stick which gave us new hope that we could finish the truck.
So I will try and post pics/videos in order and explanations and thank you's.

Fitted ADR Approved +5 inch braided brake lines
Realising that you forgot to buy c/clips to fit to the end of the half shaft at 10pm B****r
Realising that someone else has snapped off a high tensile bolt and only noticing it once everything is back on and the last bolt won't go back in (priceless

Well after much frustration the high tensile bolt is removed!!!
And after using 2x 2 tonne car jacks, welding 12mm thick brackets onto broken half shaft and hitting it under all that load with a 12LB sledge hammer it came out 5 hours work on that puppy.
