Developing HD plastic sill tanks for Defender

I'm following your progress with interest.
Well done so far and good luck with the final product sales.
Have you considered anything as far as the ex ADF Perenties extra fuel tanks go?
Most of the 4x4's only have a 65l capacity and I'm sure owners (2500?) would consider extra fuel/range as a big plus; I certainly would.

If there is enough demand would be no problem. For the perentie an easy way to make a heap of room for a big tank would be to relocate the spare wheel from underneath and use that space. The rear chassis is custom built for the perentie and is wider than defender, so should be a good sized tank. If people like the spare where it is I'm sure I could come up with other spots for a tank, ie other sill, or replace the standard tank with a bigger one.

I would have to have a look at how Perenties are set up, but my County has a 60l fuel tank occupying the otherwise unused space bounded by the LH chassis rail, the back of the transfer case, the crossmember the A-frame is on, and the rear prop shaft.

I agree with John.
That space would be ideal.
That way the tank could be the same for all 4x4 Perenties. Not sure about the 6x6.
Sill tanks will not work as the one side is occupied by the exhaust and the other by the main tank.
The spare wheel is good where it is IMO.

That's good use of an otherwise empty void and also puts the extra weight between the axles which results in better weight distribution.

I've often looked at that space and thought of putting a water tank there and even insulating it and plumbing it into the shower heat exchanger.

First time I have heard of 900r16 then saw that it is 255/100 which was something that I have been thinking about getting.
