    Fridge Slide Cable System

Just a quick post on my recent idea to sort the issue of the fridge power cable pinching when using a fridge slide.....

    Using CNC cable management track!

Very happy with the look & practicality of this very cheap and easy mod - 1m of CNC track was $12 from ebay, angle bracket from bunnings was $2 and a few screws and good to go!

    1. Cable track needs to be cut to length to allow full movement back & forth
    2. Fridge cable needs to be cut, run throw the track & soldered back together at correct length.
    3. Angle bracket needs to be mounted to the fridge slide with at least 2 bolts (m6) to stop movement & needs to be the same height as the track rolled over.
    4. Attach track to angle bracket using 2x m6 bolts throw hinged section of track allowing no movement of track but also not crushing track (best to use nyloc or 2x nuts for this)
    5. Attach track to something solid to prevent movement back & forth (this will depend on your slide layout, mine is mounted to side of draw system) - Note the point where the track stops rolling at close and do not attach anywhere past this point.

and thats about it, really is a 20 min job and makes the world of difference to the fridge slide cable issues I reckon most people get at some point!!

haha......high praise, thank you..... I can be a touch of a perfectionist with things and the sloppy cable hanging loosely around the back just would not do, plus it can get cut in the track if not careful!!

What a top idea. I've had mine in the camper trailer almost rip out on a few occasions, which could have been disastrous. The vans going,, but there'll still be one in the car that'll need sorting.

That's excellent. Very neat. My fridge is in a cage so I just used a curly cord. Stays out of the way and stretches easily when I slide the fridge out.

Thinking of something similar but I like to be able to take the fridge out and run it off a Goal Zero Yeti 400 battery from time to time. Guess I'll need a spare cable for that because I love the engineering overkill of this solution. Well played, sir.

Got one on my fridge slide in the camper, works a treat & keeps the power cable from getting pinched on the slide.

    Cheers
