did u get a normal hub and machine it into a sleeve or did you find a steel sleeve from somewere

You can buy flangeless hubs from a place in WA.

wa is a bit far from were i am i might just get a sleeve made up or some thing i have bought a straight axle so just a straight forward sleeve will work

if you read the whole post it tells you where i got them.
to get one machined was dearer than the one i got.

$37 from WA post was about $10

These are some pic's of my boys series III spare wheel carrier. Solid, opens with door but not sure if it was a standard version, not that it looks like it. I think that it takes a fatty as well as the cheese cutters. Havent tried as yet.

Ps great job Clarkie. Did the landys change the sides for the swing action of the tail gate or is that this 1 not standard??

Just been reading this thread and am looking at doing this style of carrier.
I know it has been some time since you created this carrier, but out of interest were there any issues with it since being built and used?
I would be interested to know just incase a modification could be put in place for avoidence. Also has any twisting been noticed with cross member?
