I started the mudguards a while ago but lost interest due to the fact they are going to get torn off the 1 time i take it off road :censored2: but i need them to get engineered so they have to be put on. I will have a chain attached to the rear section of the mud flap so i can tie them up when off road this may make them last a little longer. for those playing at home they are just over 300 mm from the ground now so when i change the springs they will be about 250mm from the ground so they will pass engineering and be within the 300mm clearance when i have 35" tyres o also.

I have a 'T' shape brace for the front too but didn't bolt it up yet.
looking GREAT - this is on my "To do list", once all the other projects are finished!!!!
what did you use for the mud flaps? and where can I source it?
LRH
I think Clark rubber or purple pig I got it for free from a mate he was going to throw it out!!! It's serious **** it's got canvas webbing and is about 15mm thick and is bloody heavy! I have to use a jig saw to cut it. I would hate to think what its worth:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Day 37
Update.
Tray came off today and i think my self and a mate almost crapped our pants!! Its on the heavy side but it didn't make any difference to the 270lb springs in the rear so i will still put 220lb soring in the rear and 180lb in the front.

So the under side is 97% finished with the welds i am going to give it a spray with some underbody paint to seal up any hole i might have missed and then the CP top will be welded on.
A whole day was pretty much wasted today and a mate and I tried to get my electric side mirrors to work without the electric seat fitted. I am putting Discovery D1a seats in it as i find them far more comfortable then rangie seats and they are not electric so they don't weight 400KG!! (so full set of leather seats will be up for sale if any one is interested. So i have a few questions for you Rover auto elecs..
Today we found that the elec mirrors in my 93 rangie are controlled by the ECU that also controls the seats :x :x :x due to the memory function etc. I havnt had a good look at rave yet but i will ask the questions anyway do all land rovers fitted with electric side mirrors and no electric seats have an ecu also? does anyone know a way of by passing the electric ECU under the seat?
We were going to make our wiring setup from the electric mirrors with a few relays etc but the switch uses the same 2 pins for down and left which really makes things hard! I know you are probably all saying just get manual controlled mirrors but i just can't let it go just yet I dont like being beaten by auto electrics!

Thanks to todays RDO I pushed ahead heaps! I am going to use that under car spray on tar on the under side of the tray then it's gunmetal Grey hammer tone for the rest of the tray.
Mick
Looking good there.
Funny you like Disco seats to the Rangie ones, I rather the Rangie ones to be quite honest with you although Disco seats offer better side support.
By saying Series 1a seats you'e refering to the 94-99 S1 Disco seats??
