Yeah spot welds suck! 5.5mm for rangie and 6.5mm for disco. Cobolt drill bit was the only one that lasted!

Land Rover really didn't go to much effort the engine bays them selfs are almost identical apart form the grommet holes for a/c heater and looms. Inside was a challenge the dash mounts are completely different so that was the biggest time waster pulling the damn thing in and out 1 million times to make sure it was right but everything lines up and fits so i got it in the end!

it has passed engineering apart from a little friction problem i have with the front brakes.... wasnt getting a good average. will change over the rotors for new ones and my local brake place are ordering the 'BEST' brake pads money can buy under 100 buks :P

I have been driving it on a temp permit the last month and I am pretty happy! The engineer pulled .8 g's going around and around a roundabout the other day and it handles very neutral too which is plus! \

Were you using a normal drill bit - or the special drill bits specifically made for drilling out spot welds.

    Thanks

    good luck with yr project!

I have heaps of 'driveway pics' up until the weekend just gone.

Pics are from the High Country of Vic

Had a ball snow was awesome!

As far as handling its very neutral lovely to drive on road and off just need to tweak the fuel pump a little better

Also i got pulled up by the cops of Thursday they were doing breath tests and total vehicle inspections with vicroads

Normally i would be ****ting myself but i let the cops sweet it out a little and fill his paper work up before i showed him the engineers cert! After that and 40 minutes of looking for things to sting me on all they put down and could find wrong with it was a front LHS missing mud flap and driving lights that were not wired in with my high beam!!!! So off with just a warning!

So guys and girls the cops are looking for us and they know what to look for. I even had my after market steering wheel measured! suspension hight, steering lock, engine bay inspection, wiring condition, wheels sizes etc etc.....
