my disco2 has a connector under each seat, where the wires of are coming from the sea, but arent attached to another connector. the drivers seat has another smaller plug again that isnt attached. could these wires/plugs be for the seat heaters?

hummm pics missing, may take a few more for you to see which ones they are

if the yellow wire is there (runs around the seat base) then seat heaters are there

the easier way is to look in behind the window switches and see if the two heater plugs are there

    does this sound right ?

I installed my switches last night, and tried them this morning on the way to work in the cold - all up, about a 30min drive.

Just wondering how long it normally takes to feel some soothing warmth in my seat?

I didnt notice any appreciable difference this morning, so am hoping I dont have a dodgy relay or something.

    Cheers...

Thought of that, but I do have the pretty yellow wires clipped to the underside of the seats. Arn't these the heating elements to give you that warm feeling?

Ok - as an update, I have checked the switches & they are working correctly...Ie: pins 1 & 4 connected when the switch is on (depressed) and open circuit when the switch is off.

I have checked all of the connectors & they are in place and connected, as are all of the fuses.

From what I can see, pins 2 & 5 on the connector on the back of the switch only operate the "on" light.

Over the weekend, I will try & trace the wiring back further towards the power source, and see if I can find anything amiss there.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know - cause its really cold here in the mornings....

As a side note, the tracing of the wires will need to be done AFTER I install the new side steps... Photos to follow...

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions before I dodge work tomorrow, and spend the day tracing wires?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

The pretty yellow wires under the seats are part of the SRS Airbag sysyem - it activates seat belt tensioners on the seat belt fittings

You would have to have quite a few other wires/cables for the heated seats
