The engineer looked it over with no major drama's, he even indicated the safety bar for the middle harness belt would get approval. Now I have to get it to his place :eek: for full approval. Probably a towie job.

So I cut up some 6mm steel and bought 12 castors from Bunnings.

It took a bit of jiggling but I got it around OK :)
I made a bracket for the El Cheapo driving lights I have, it was made up from a grab handle and dexion. So the whole lot is El Cheapo.

They are down low as I need ( I think) all the air I can get through that radiator.
Sparkie is visiting next week and I'm working on the tray base. I could.nt ger 3mm Ally checkerplate - 6 week wait- so I got 2.5mm & I'm gluing it on 7mm plywood which should be strong enough.

The sparkie visited & sorted out the charging, its fairly belting out a charge now. Also the headlights problem was because of 100w Cibie inserts that only had the wiring upgraded to within 100mm of the globe. They melted the plastic connector housing and the molten plastic formed an insulating barrier. I upgraded the wiring all the way. Still the same size connecting terminals so I dunno.

Aluminium tray is on, Its only 2.5 mm so I contact glued 7mm marine ply underneath it. I enamel undercoated the ply which took a bit of doing as it soaked in a fair bit. Well thats my excuse for having done b*&%$@ all for a few weeks- waiting for the paint to dry :angel:

While the dash is off I've been doing all the things that will only mean removing it again. Driving lights, interior lights, rearview camera, fuel guages, engel wiring etc.
But there will probably be something I've missed.
I'm trying to work out where to fit one of these.

I'm just waiting on the engineers report, it passed OK and RWC is booked for later this week. Hooray:D

It all can be removed in a jiffy. I made up single bolt brackets for the rear hoop.

Well it sailed thru the process, Vicroads were very efficient to give them credit. The wallet is significantly lighter, so maybe I should'nt praise them.
Its a great feeling putting the plates & sticker on ,and its a lovely vehicle to drive. The only thing is its got a woefull left lock, but I'm sure its fixable.
But of course I've started a new project without finishing the last, I'm extending the garage ( I cant bear to part with the old Landie & might try to find a donor to get it on the road)
