I'll post a better pic of it complete....
It took about 2 hours from the 1st cut to the end of mick painting it.
It looks good and now makes the County look like a real one...
Bored on Friday afternoon and after a little (not alot) thought we decided to modify the winch bar on my 110 V8.
I had been thinking of doing this for awhile and had looked around for a simple straight winch bar, without any other barwork etc. Couldn't find one though so had a look at the one I had and found that it would be quite straight forward to "simplify" it.
So with Clarkie's help and Wollapit's slab, kindly donated to him by the bloke who grabbed the torqueflight, we got to work. Well......Clarkie got to work.

Started by just cutting off all the upright sections of the bar. Too easy.
Half done.
All gone. Then it was a simple matter of cleaning it all up with a couple flapper discs and a coat of paint.
All done.
Eventually when time permits I want to cut off the fairlead section and reverse it, so it is on top of the bar instead of underneath it. The winch will be moved up higher, out of the way when I fit a non air con front grill panel. Also will cut off the recovery points and fit the swivel eye type ones to the bar in line with the chassis rails.
Thanks Clarkie.
Oh and for those that ask "why do that?" I have no need for a "Bull bar" so to speak. Also it's a little lighter and to be honest I think it looks better with out all the bar work on it.
Cheers
