Hey Matt,
The VNT turbo you've got fitted, does it have a vacuum actuator or a pressure one.
If its vacuum how are you planning to control it?
Steve
Will be watching with much interest. Now wondering if I should be putting the VNT back on the shelf and starting off with the T25 I have sitting here until someone that knows what they are doing has done the R&D....which isn't ME
Is the boost regulator just one of those bleed valve style thingies that allows you to fool the actuator into seeing eg 15psi when actual boost is 20?
Steve
Yep, that's it, shouldn't be to hard with a dyno run to see optimal change over, just run vanes shut, then vanes open, see where the power ramp overlaps/EGT's overlap and set boost change over level accordingly
Then once that's achieved but an actuator that operates at the right pressure.....but in all honesty, once set, it'll stay as is
Oh, its a pressure can that I had laying around from turboing a 302 windsor, so pretty sure its 6psi, then leak off up from there
Why not fit a controller like this? Greddy JDM Profec B Spec 2 II Boost Contoller Black NEW - eBay (item 220701567611 end time Dec-24-10 15:38:03 PST)
That and a properly set up aneroid, hell, turn it up to 60psi when theres a few tonne on the back and keep it around 15 for longevity when there isn't![]()
Because with a mechanical injector pump oiler, you can't alter the fuelling to suit the boost, with an aftermarket ECU on a petrol you can tune your boost maps to accomodate when you up the boost, so you'd either pump char and huge EGT's when at 15psi or likely not even make sixty
Thats what we need^^^^. I have stuffed around with my NA pump and now can get enough fuel but is either over fuel wile boost ramps up or lean out at high RPM loads if fueled back under low boost. Its a compromise... Have to watch the EGT's.
We need a Kiki pump with the aneroid from a latter NPR truck. Bloody hard to buy out right as most want an exchange.
I think Matt is on the right track controlling the VNT with a pressure actuator. More fuel = more boost once on song, you get the idea. And keep it simple so reliable wile away from civilisation.

Go on Matt change the grill and surrounds to the grey puma ones...then all you will need is a defender sticker with a flash underneath it to confuse the hell out of people.![]()
