Buy a claped fender and use Nisota running gear
If he's going coils I wouldn't use 60 series steering box. May be a pain setting up spring turrets. Maybe the 75 or 80 series box and graft QU patrol turrets or use complete patrol front

    Its alive!

This one has been a bit of a challenge all along which is why I put it aside for a wile.
Thanks to Khos (Disco owner) who cleared the clutter and made the work shop usable again we now have progress as my Rangie is in next then numerous series projects to follow.

I won't post many pics of the conversion unless there is interest as is a Toyota.
There was a bit of engineering in this in the end as every bloody thing on it had to be altered in some way
Shock, Radiator, Engine Mounts, X member, cowling, Rad support, panels. Wiring just to mention some of the grief. The 45, 47 and 60 are very different animals.
Now I have it done I will have a tough reliable truck wile I rebuild all the broken Land Rovers here

Needs a new dryer for air con and re gas, Make a new clutch slave push rod as 47 is different to 45

No pics yet But have it all done now and driving tonight Drives like...... A 60 series. The 2H and power steer works well. With later mounts is nice and quiet and clutch is nice. Has a nice light feel to it in general.

Now looking at a Turbo for it. A local here has a heap of turboed 2H's and seem to work well so cant see why mine wont. Just don't over fuel or over boost it so doesn't over heat. Thinking around 7psi.

It may round up my 4BD1T 120

We now call this thing the awesome 40. As has all stock Toyota running gear that is tough as. With a 2H, Bullet proof 4 speed ,power steer and air con

Not bad for a 79 model as body is in good shape as are doors and window mech.

I have to say my Land Rover 120" is a nicer ride and better off road but the 45 will be stronger and cope with more abuse in the long run

Khos has some of the latter pics as I borrowed his camera

Will try to get a few together soon.

I also have a movie of the first start and power steer test but cant up load from here Be happy to send a disk to some one who can

Here are some of the pics that I took with my camera , I'm hoping that Tony would be able to complete the captions , but I'll try and write up what I thought was exactly what was being done on the toyota...

A Template that Tony made from scrap so his old man could take to local exhaust place to have it duplicated , I think to reroute a water hose, another pic below shows clearly the end product

The Hose bent up and final fitout to make sure all fits nicely , a lot of work

bracket for the radiator cleaned with a wire brush and painted ....could also the Fan shroud in backgrund also "painted" on top of the Red drum.

all put back in neatly , Radiator was also cleaned and painted black previously.

here is Tony having a snooze under the Toyo

one of the brackets of some description exteneded for something rather.

another bracket made up and painted black
