Thinking a YouTube Video link of it running (with that rumble)......!!!
id highly consider the cummins but thats depending on what scale you plan on taking the project to? td42's are good motors but the IDI side of things does not impress me from performance side of things though....big boost and fuel gets great power out of them but a cummins with same boost and fuel will be much better ...either way will be interesting to see the outcome

Yup, I hear you. The weight issue is what took me away from the Cummins. They are heavy! Was saddened to hear that the engine out of 'My Old 101' got scrapped in the UK.. Nissan FD6 direct injection 6 pot. That lump had potential as it went well in standard form! Will b very interested to see how well the Duramax goes.. Prob well out of my budget.... But...

Had seen those video's of the patrols with duramax in them and there is a few more out there.
Got some mail today so can move on with a few things now. Have started on a 4inch snorkel and the new air cleaner from the Patroldocta which should save me a heap of mucking around with the piece of c#*p i initially made. The 35 Spline axles also arrived from the USA but i wont fit them fro a while. I'll post a photo of intake set up when finished but will be after easter.

Duramax's are SWEET.. I should know.. work with them on a daily basis..
are you going to incorporate the 'tow haul' on the allison box? basically it shuts out 6th gear for towing.
I might of missed it but what model is the d-max? LLY LBZ LMY? Highly suggest a tuner and to drop the DEF if its a late model engine..

they go REAL well in OKA's as well as the Chevys!(performance/race tune means LOTS of black smoke!)

Sorry its a little shakey.. Will try and get someone to ride shotgun next time

The Oka goes REALLY well.. certainly dosnt brake as well as it accelerates!!

If you need any info or diagrams.. dont be afraid to shoot me a PM and can either fax thru manual pages or happy to quiz the auto sparkys
