    Homemade Defender Console

    Gday

I posted these pics in another thread but I thought someone may find them more useful and easier to find here.

I have always found it difficult to put switches in the Defender, in fact there are only two blanks spaces that come from the factory.

So rather than splash out on a MUD console I decided instead to design and build my own. I must admit I did get carried away with the switches. I now have provision for 15 switches Also it is now much easier to fit switches, it only takes two screws to get in behind the console.

In the end it has cost me $25 for the Powdercoating and I am very happy with it. I got the alloy for free off the scrap pile at a local welding joint and I happen to know someone with keys to a college. So I borrowed the metal folder there

Heres the buildup up pics starting from scratch. I still have the template lying around somewhere. rar110 wanted it first but I'm sure he would be happy to pass it along to the next person if they were interested in making there own as well

This is what I had originally:

First pics after it had been cut out and folded up:

    Hope you enjoy the pics

WOW! thats a great bit of fabricating and it looks awesome too, top job mate! those defenders dont offer much in the way of "dash" to mount stuff do they!
