This is a quick tutorial on converting an airconditioned County to "free flowing" air by installing air vents.
Things to source.
Air Vent flaps
Mesh grill
Vent levers
Hinges
The County I converted already had the plastic trim removed from under the dash pad & a air duct installed for the demister so this is how to take it from there.
Cut out a rectangle so that the flaps will seal on the lip thats left. Get some 10mm rubber trim from Clarke rubber & sealastic it in place to tidy up the looks. ( & provide better sealing)
Cut down some hinges ( from Bunnings) to be rivetted to the firewall
Its a lot easier for assembly to remove the pin from the vent lever & re assemble with a small bolt & nyloc nut.
To secure the flyscreen to the bulkhead I bought some 15mm aluminium channel & self tapped them where there was double skin. They would'nt affix directly as the screws would have gone theru to the outside.
Not rocket science...- but just looking at this i might have put one hinge on the wrong side- DOH...
