Not much progress to report as yet but I have just purchased a car trailer:eek: Another rego:mad: I'm so sick of hiring other trailers that have major problems... Electrics, wheel bearings, tyres and brakes being the main issues. All the time I have spent stuffing around in the past. Then the long haul to take it back.
The trailer will be a great asset during this restoration as will now be able to drag larger parts or wrecks and move AYI from shed to shed till finished.
I'm still having nightmares about that "Rutherglen" episode, you could have bought this "Trailer" sooner. :p
seriously it is a wise decision to buy your own seeing you will be regularly using it and you know the condition of the trailer yourself as it will be serviced in the rangier workshop:twisted:
Never had one come up for the right price till now. It's in good condition as is but only has override brakes on the front axle. I'm going to convert it to four wheel electric brakes, all new wheel bearings, rewire it & fit led lights all round, re bush the springs + realign the axles so runs true and fit four new light truck tyres + mount two spares on either side, fit an electric winch, and your job will be respraying it with some colour:pQuote:
So am I:eek: You did very well to recover that wile going down hill at over 80kmh:cool:

This one will be a me haul. I will never lend it out with out keeping an eye on things. However I will help others in need when I can. Especially stranded or damaged landy's if it ever happens to anyone in our area.
Be so nice just to hook it up and go with out all the dramas of the past:)
Leyland Brothers on channel 7 right now!
EDIT - they're in Jeeps though...
Hi All
Rangier if i was fixing the trailer as you describe i'd attach stubs to hold the spares as you then have spare hubs as well and i'd attach the spare wheels to the left front and drivers side rear so as to make door access easier:). Feel free to ignore this advice :)
Regards Mark
Saw another episode of Land Rover World the other night with a brief glimpse of your beast. (It was on late about midnight on 7TWO)
Again, they were flashing back to earlier trips and showed a canoe adventure down a river from the Barrington Tops. Not too many Landy scenes but nonetheless your S2a was clearly visible. They had the ute too. We need to source that whole series - I think I'll shoot off an email to Channel 7.
Classic Leyland Bros stuff too - dorky music, constant cuts to kookaburras and kangaroos - loved it. :D
Looks like Channel 7 don't like email enquiries. Looks like I'll have to do it the old fashioned way.;)
