Amazing to see 3237 and 5917 steaming past thighs hill tafe carpark, past the coal loader and onto Carrington along the wharf. hauling restored coaches. $25 return from Newcastle station around the big loop right down to the criterion in carro. People everywhere on the road! Awesome sight! Covers just about all of port waratah. Not sure if passengers have ever been taken thru there, but prob never will happen again. No diesel backup either! I'm going for a pub lunch today.....
