Doesn't matter where the thread is put, some drunken yob will think it hilariously funny to "roll coal" at anything involving solar power.

    Hydrogen Powered Train

Germany launches world's first hydrogen-powered train | Environment | The Guardian

While not actually solar powered as yet it these trains could be, as hydrogen can be made using solar power.

    Creative advertising.
Electric motor and batteries. Not solar powered as such.
Yes they use solar to charge the batteries back at the station.
    Bit of a difference.

Not at all - the POWER for the train is coming from the solar panels - the batteries on the train STORE that power, hence Solar POWERED Train - makes perfect sense to me as an Electrician. A BATTERY powered train had some D cells in it and runs around a small track in your childs bedroom. 😉😊
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Hi timax and as Homestar posted, the train draws it’s energy from battery banks on the train, but these battery banks are recharged by the solar panels on the roof of the train and the solar panels on the roof of the train’s storage building.

If you scroll down through their Facebook page, you will come to one of their power “BILLS”, where they made a CREDIT of $698.14 for a months “USE”

Yep i know what your saying but thats like saying a Tesla is a solar car if you have a solar panel on your roof at home where this really is just an electric train which we already have. Instead of overhead wires its battery or diesel powered with the sun charging the battery or the grid when there is not enough sun.
If the electricity was made from a wave generator would it then be a wave powered train? Or from a wind generator is it then a wind powered train?
Hey, im a hard one to impress i know.
I look at the project as more of a way for the resort to run a shuttle into town and pretend they are doing something for the environment rather than a ground breaking achievement .
