SupporterThe nighttime show is worth looking at whether you like trains or not imo, I'm not into trains and I thought it was excellent, has some pretty interesting history, fairly sad story how it all panned out considering the early potential.
steamtown.....Peterborough?
If so , I've been through Peterborough many times via road ....and rail , back in the 60's.
I didn't know about a light show and the day I went through the museum must have been the quietest day on record , we started up one old diesel loco and let it come to temperature.
My guide , a young woman , knew her stuff and became very excited when I told her an old Ghan driver is a friend of mine , so got a good look at an old locomotive that was used on the Ghan.
Took lots of photos that day because it was actually part of my life, with trains going to Adelaide and Port Pirie from Broken Hill every day.
Spent the best part of a day there coming back from Perth a couple of years ago. Did not stay up late for the light show as I had a long day planned for the next day (made Cobar with a stop in Wilmington toy museum).
