RR Which model for touring ???

Hi to all you RR buffs,

Always have been and still am a Patrol man, but, have always had a soft spot for the ol' Rangie.
I own a 87 MK 4lt LWB Patrol [last of the leafers] which has taken me to some amazing places and brought me back again. Its a great 4by which I intend to keep for many years to come, but, its not a good long range tourer [unless you like driving a brick].

I know that the RR and for that fact, LR in general, have copped a fair bit of flak, by the general 4wd fraternity, as having major issues with reliability, however, a nice Rangie has never failed to turn my head.
Its kinda like the naughty girl every guy would love to.......! but wouldnt take home to meet mum...lol.

Well...Ive decided, after the last 30 odd years to get one. I would like to set it up as a tourer, possibly towing a small camper. A nice comfy car thats not going to shove your kidneys down to your knees after an hour in the saddle.
With the rangie, it strikes me that you seem to get a lot of car for your $.

If you had a budget of around $7000 and were in the market for a reliable touring vehicle, what model RR would you guys be looking for ?

    Kindest regards,

    L.

my pick for that type of work would be the 3.9 V8 and ZF auto. I think that was anything from 91 or so up to 95/6 when they changed to the P38 shape

definately a comfy ride with power to tow anything

for that sort of money, you should be able to get into the Hiline/Vogue model which had all the luxury features as well
