    Snatch Strap Safety - Regulation

The attached document makes an interesting read.

    Regulation Impact Statement
    Motor Vehicle Recovery Straps
    Product Safety Hazard Response Branch
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission 2010
    Office of Best Practice Regulation
    Reference No. 11399

The Queensland Mandatory safety standard for snatch straps looks like it will be adopted nationally. Great idea !

    Cheers

The regulations if they do come into being:
    • will not afect the current non-compliant straps being sold to the public before the regulation is enacted.
    • does not affect straps already owned by the public.
    • do not contain any recommendations for expiry date of the webbing straps. Something that is manditory for other forms of webbing restraints and straps.
When will Government do things properly?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    ditto the above.
Be good if there was some public education on the use of suitable recovery points as well.
