There are the steel loops that the manual identifies as "recovery points" but as i said, i didn't think they'd stand up to more than on road tie down points would.

The tow point behind the cover on the stock bumper isn't worth a pinch either. Tested it too, 2.4T to fail, 1.6T to deform.

I have just installed a ARB winch bar and has 2 off recovery points
Could these be classed as recovery points for snatching possible with equalizer strap
Or should additional aftermarket points be installed directly to sub frame
The reason I ask is that I am going with a group to the cape and one of the stipulation is that must have 2 off recovery points .

    Thanks

i would ask arb for that in writing first, my understanding was the recovery points on the bar are for winch recovery (doubling up) and not for shock loads from snatching. always open to opinions though.
4x4inteligence and arb use to make some hooks which mount to the bullbar mounts underneath, you just get longer high tensile bolts to fit.

    Thanks Yorkie for that
The problem arises when you get different information from different arb stores
Yes have been told by one that it is only for winch recovery but also been told with equalizer strap ok
But will be installing recovery points to the bar mounting on the sub frame to be safe

Even for a winch recovery I'd be equalising it. And the hooks under the bar are just another thing to get slammed or hung up on.
