i could haul granite pieces on to a trailer using something like this and still come out of it cheaper than paying for pieces or hiring ute equipped with mini crane thing, even if the cable wouldnt be much chop by the time i was done with it for th epurposes of actual vehicle recovery

click on sellers other items they have more listed

or you could look at one of these I have one on my s111 only changed the control box for a better one 500 amps, the ones that come with them have what appeares to be 2 100 amp soleniods.

Thanks Booger never thought of looking at other items , must of had one of those moments I think mate. I like the one on your link but not sure would fit in my winch cradle though. What size battery would you need to run that mate?

More over kill 880cca starter and 2 x 100 amp/hr deep cyles in the back they also run my fridge and inverter

It is a bit big for most winch bars butwith 315:1 ratio it is slow but doesnt stop

    T rex (not dinosaur)

I have a 12k trex style ningbo manufactured winch

after pulling apart for grease and realign,
i observed these winches are quite simple construction.

so what does the xtra $1500 for a warn offer ?
same hp,apparently same motor, same gear ratio,
better solid state solenoid on warn (maybe $100 to $200 more)

cable crappy but synthetic can be bought or $100 or so...

mind you if this was usa the $ difference would be more like $200.......

so tuff call here but is there any factual evidence expensive winches are better ?
or just emotion and bias .......

The big thing is quality control and warranty other wise probably not that much difference our Trex winches have been good value 1 warranty claim which they honoured but did take 3 months to ship parts from OS
