Neale, you should advise Jack to stand well clear of the vehicle and it won't be a problem.

I have a winch on the back of the 130 as well as the front, haven't had to use it for recovery yet but it's a boon for loading heavy stuff onto the trailer. If your offroad driving involves bogholes, rear recovery is often necessary. I don't like the receiver mounted electric winch idea, very heavy and awkward item to carry in the vehicle and a backbreaker to mount when you need it.

    Here's mine.

I also don't like the idea of a receiver mount at all.

whats the mater Pete, dont you like the idea of having to open the back of your 90 and man handle a winch in some sort of a craddle, carry it around to the front on uneven ground, in slop, fit it, hook it up and then start your recovery.....sounds peachy to me

101, is a side mounted winch, outboard of the chassis rail tha runs front or back with only a 4000lb capacity. Quite a handy bit of kit, but the original vehicle was designed with it in mind from the begining. A little different to buying a defender or disco and fitting a central winch and running cables etc. Alot of stress could be applied to the chassis via the pulleys for the rope that could be not so good.

Yes it has been done, but mostly by guys that have started with a bare chassis and a central winch is a priority, which means other things take a back seat so to speak.

Petes set up is very good. Especially for what he does. ASk yourself do you need it?

Front for me, cause if I get stuck I want to keep going to where im headed. But yes rear would be good for weight.

Rear winch bar I designed to similar dimensions as the front XROX to house a 9500lb winch with air freespool and in-cab controls (Still needs some more work to complete).

Swapped tail lights to D2a units and wired LED reverse lights into the rear bar.

I'll bite. How much for a rear bar? It's exactly what I have draw on a napkin for mine to match the xrox I have.

    What exactly are you after?

Do you want a winch in there or are you happy with just a standard bar?

Do you require the reverse lights?

If no winch the bar can be made a bit smaller and also not interfere with the towbar.

Have a look at my build thread in my sig line for the materials I used.
