Nope. Not in any genuine or practical sense. There are much better alternatives around that bolt direct to the chassis.

There are also other options - a search of aulro (try "defender recovery points" )should give you plenty of options mate.

I'm not convinced, my arb bar is bolted to the chassis with 4 bolts each side. And the material from the reinforce recovery eye on the bar to the chassis is all aleast 5mm steal. Obviously I'm no expert, but using a bridal I would not hesitate to use it. Unless some one can convince me otherwise.

There is space for two d shackles where u can also use a hi lift jack

^^ as per bigblue, yes; providing you have the new style bar (sits in close and wraps around) the bottom of the high lift jack slots have reinforced holes to put rated shackle pins through. Plenty strong enough - even for dragging empty shipping containers around paddocks

My comments relate to the earlier Tdi bar with which I am familiar. No idea about the later bars sorry.

I use JATE rings modified to fit over the steering guard.

Installing the ARB bar in the garage this week and still intend to use the JATE rings.

ARB are very careful about the description of these points such as durable tow points even though the salesman may say otherwise.

There is no such thing as rated recovery points so it is best to minimise the load as much as possible in all situations and apply any load to the chassis as directly as possible.
