    Recovering Trees Off Track

    I had to drag a tree (or part of) off a track this weekend, decided the drag train was too short, so used ext strap, and the trunk broke, as I thought, no hope of dragging tree root ball and all.

    I checked the gear this weekend, as I'd put it away wet. The chain had dried out and all the mud had turned to sand in the bottom of the bag, so I ran it thru my hands a couple of times to get the dust off. The ext strap was still damp though, so I took it out of the bag and left it in front of a fan overnight, and it seems to be nice and dry now.

    I'd give the strap a good hosing down, to get any sand out of it, before drying it and storing it away.
