I say if the ruddy Ethiopians can't stop fighting and look after their country, maybe the Japanese aren't a bad idea.

The Chinese are busy invading the rest of the continent anyway.

Nah mate, the best thing for some of those countries is just to build a wall around them and leave them for a couple of thousand years so that they can develop some culture and some society.

When the colonisers and explorers got to Africa, it was like the deepest Outback but with less finesse and style.

Think about it: no system of government, no written language, no buildings whatsoever. Only inter-tribal war. No agriculture. Very little trade. Think about Europe around 600 BC.

i should also add that at no time in history has a nation ever been "colonised", "invaded" "liberated" etc for any other reason than money and power, never to benefit the people of the victim nation

and as for South Africa...... the inter-tribal war is still raging, but this time its whites vs blacks....

Yes, you are correct: Africa should have been left to stew for another 1000 years.
But we can't turn back history, can we?
I must differ on some aspects, though: are you saying that all progress is wrong? That the introduction of a more civilized method of society is incorrect?

And you have the nerve to say the place should have been nuked?

Maybe you should spend some time in Africa before passing judgement, hmmm?

I was actually referring to the nuclear bombinng of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WW2

"Civilised" is a term that is very much open to interpretation, no doubt various indigenous populations have looked upon the behaviour and practises of an invading people as being considerably barbaric.....

Tribal wars, no different to any other conflict that has happened, but at least hundreds of people arent killed instantly because someone presses a button in a inter-clan skirmish, unlike what can quite easily happen on the modern battlefield....

Take a look around the "developed" world, see how many random people smile when they see you

Then visit a village a couple of hours drive from where you are, I'll bet the people are a LOT happier!

"developed" and "civilised" are purely a matter of perspective, and remember, progress isnt allways in a forward direction....
