I don't believe that a motor company should be bolstered up by the government but at the same time Solihull is an institution and to shut that, well you might as well just re-badge Land rover ford or some natty indian name say TATA for example.
Looks like the mother ship has decided to get some of it's investment back then

Chinese spares
On the other hand, if the Chinese can buy the Defender and Series production licenses, maybe we can start seeing cheap spares in abundance.
The Chinese do this very well, considering that most of the current vehicles are re-badged copies and hybrids (Toy chassis and body with Mitsu engines etc).
Just think: a new Puma type vehicle at the price of a GWM?

the trouble is they(chinese) use old presses and machinery and dont replace them until they die. which means that things do not fit exactly.
