Why is it that motoring journalists (sic) never fact check their articles. "The first Land Rover Defender produced as the Series Land Rover back in 1948" = wrong the Land Rover didn't become "series" until 1958 when the Series II was introduced.

"Land Rover slowly turned... ...calling it the Land Rover 90 and 110 in later life. The Land Rover Defender kicked off in 1983" = err wasn't it the 90 and 110 that kicked off in 1983?

How do they expect us to believe the rest of the story if they cant even get simple facts straight.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

From the few motoring Journo's I've known, their articles are merely an audition to join a car companies PR department.

(If you check the careers of quite a few car company PR people their previous career was 'motoring journalist' )

Well, if you want to be picky, it was only the 110 in 1983 from memory! The 90 was at least a year later!

    But you are correct -

    1948 - 58 Land Rover

    1958 - 84 Land Rover Series (2,2a,2b,3)

    1983 - 1989 Land Rover (110, 90, 127 - I think these were the only 'official' numbers)

    1989 - Land Rover Defender (90, 110, 130)
