    That was not a 4WD tragedy!

    That was a vehicle tragedy!

    It was a vehicle that hit the child.

    The number of wheels capable of being driven had absolutely no bearing on the incident.

    I believe that some years ago it became policy to only mention the race or ethnicity of an alleged offender if it had some bearing on the incident itself. Why then is it still acceptable for the media to continue to stigmatise a particular class of vehicle?

    If an alleged offender's race or ethnicity is irrelevant, it cannot be mentioned. The drive train of the vehicle in this case is irrelevant, so should not be mentioned.

    The Murdoch press has been pushing a certain 4WD agenda for some time now....

    This doesn't lessen in any way the tragedy.

    A little life has been taken and several families traumatised forever.
