Hello from Brisbane - not wanting to be a pedant, Lord knows there are enough of them here, but this piece of journalese is not strictly correct.
From my understanding, HUE166, fine machine that it is, was not the 'first Land Rover ever built'. There were several pre production models, including the famed centre steer model, that preceded HUE166. It is probably more correctly identified as the oldest Land Rover in their collection and possibly still running. I seem to recall that its chassis number was no.4 although they were not necessarily assembled in numerical order.
