    Taken from LRO:

Stats from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders say 9531 new Land Rovers were registered in September, although Land Rover recorded 10,769 – we believe the manufacturer's stats include commercial vehicles, that aren't reflected in the SMMT's figures.

The figures also show a 13% rise for the manufacturer in the first nine months of 2013, with 43,916 Land Rovers registered (48,986 according to Land Rover) against 38,847 for the same period last year. The new car market as a whole rose 12%, enjoying its best month since March 2008.

Land Rover’s figures show the Range Rover Evoque is the manufacturer’s top-seller, with 3599 registered in September (up 35% on Sept 2012) and 15,624 to date in 2013.

The Freelander 2 is up 35% for the year to date, proving its mild face lift hit the spot, with 11,974 registered so far in 2013 – 2424 last month.

It’s great to see more than 1000 Defenders registered on a 63-plate – 1068 representing a 30% rise (Sept 2012 vs Sept 2013). In all, 4475 Defenders have been registered in 2013, just pipped by the L405 Range Rover (4518 year to date, 834 in September).

The new Range Rover Sport, which apparently has a nine-month waiting list and has yet to reach peak production output, helped notch up 1309 registrations for the Sport in September (both L320 and L494 models), taking the combined total for 2013-registered Sports to 5866.

The Discovery 4, prior to its 2014 model year face lift, recorded 1535 September registrations (6529 year to date).

With a raft of revisions for the Evoque, Disco 4, and Range Rovers announced last month, we’d expect October to continue the upward trend for Land Rover, in what is stacking up to be a record-breaking year for the firm.
