2018 Range Rover Velar adds 221kW Ingenium petrol engine – UPDATE
Update - Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for all new Ingenium petrol models will be announced on August 1.
The upcoming*2018 Range Rover Velar has become the latest recipient of parent company Jaguar Land Rover's (JLR) most powerful version of its 2.0-litre 'Ingenium' petrol engine.With the wider Velar range heading Down Under later this year, the company expects the high-output petrol models to go on sale around December 2017.
Producing 221kW of power and 400Nm of torque from the four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, the Velar can sprint from 0-100km/h in a brisk 6.0 seconds.It's unclear whether the new engine will be available across all nine trim levels of the Velar range, though it's likely several new variants*will be added to the 42-strong model family*as a result.
