Thread: French couple traveling world on four wheels - The Missoulian

The vehicle arrived at a port in Holland, but when they went to retrieve it - and the mounds of equipment they'd left in it - they discovered both axles badly damaged, the wheels sitting at angles, the chassis bent. The Rover's shipping container, Robert says, had obviously been dropped by a crane at some point.
The only good thing was that the car had been shipped across the Pacific, through the Panama Canal, and then across the Atlantic to Europe.
"So Allistair got to complete the trip around the world before we did," Martine says.

Is that Karma? from memory once the resources had been sucked dry they dropped a few members of this forum from a great height?

Robert and Martine camped the nite here whilst travelling thru.They were really nice people to meet and was a pleasure to offer them a place to stay for the nite.
They still send us postcards and emails.
I would make the same offer to other travellers again,it was a great experience.

I cannot understand the negative attitude that comes through in some of the previous posts - maybe those members were not fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spend some time with Robert and Martine and get to know them properly while they were in Australia.

We spent about three months with them and have many fond memories of travelling to great places (especially Tassie) and sharing many great meals (mostly cooked by them except for the Rovers Restaurant weekend) with a lovely, generous couple.

Still keep in touch with them and wish them all the best in realising their dreams.
