Singleton Automotive use to be good, don't know now,

MJK discovery is very good and usually will take about a week to do it but you will have to wait 3 or so weeks to get it in.

The are located at Belingen so it is a fair distance away,

There is also All 4 by four in Newcastle, they would only be a few hours away,

the phone book would be your freind on this one,

Good luck in getting it done soon though,

depending on what subject you are doing you should be fine,

I did Design and Tech and I found that is why you keep a journal.

This is were you put in your issues like this one, and the reasons

    good luck with it

You'll have a lot of trouble finding someone to do an F head motor. What you need is an old retired bloke who does it to get a few dollars.

I had a 1595 cc engine done by LW Parry in Arncliffe (Sydney) and I supplied the replacement pistons, rings, bearings and gasket kits and it still cost me something like $4,000.00.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

When dealing with old engineering like this, something that is different from Fords and Holdens, I feel that you have to find all the parts yourself, and provide the machinest with the workshop manual to get all the correct data and tolerances from.

I always rebuild all my engines myself. I send to the machinest a bare block, crankshaft, and bare rods. They then only machine the parts to the size of the new bearings and pistons that I provide them. I also send to them the bare head, so they can grind the valves, and cut new valve seats. I then assemble the engine myself over a few days. I have no formal training, only practical experiance. The workshop manual, especially with Land Rover, will show you what to do every step of the way.

This needs to be rebuilt, installed and up and running in the next 4 or 5 weeks???

I guess if worst comes to worst you could degrease, clean, spray and install before its all due.
    Cheers
