Grenville Motors Adverts The Early Days

    Hello All,

I have put a few old newspaper ads i managed to digup on the LRSOC website.

The Register in the UK has a great section now on Grenville Motors. Even a few unseen ads! One with 138 the First Land Rover to New South Wales and another with a really nice 1950.

You can also see the first ad the NSW Public saw of the Land Rover

If you email them to me, I'll put them up on my website.

Or you can load them up into the files area on AULRO.

    LROC

I'm registerd on that site, and I still cannot see the file .. they have a snobby policy of not allowing NON club members access to all of the files . Silly really , but thats British society for you .. still bogged down with ancient protocol and so on

Thumbs up go to origional publications

    just joined that site.

go to "original publications" and there are dozens of publications to download.
Tried to access the "articles" part and it said that I was denied access so I went to the other above location.
They basicy want you to pay $60 per year for membership or you cant access their "Private areas" of articles.

but cant access the Grenville articles...sorry

Well being an Aussie and the 80" tech officer of the S1 club and edit the Registers Club mag I am bit surprised at this thread.

I know LRO53 who is enjoying his 2 year 'back packing visa' is a touch taken back.

I was at the Solihull Factory yesterday talking to a few well know LR employees about the companies history, how internal systems worked in the old days for parts, CKD's etc and trying to get more out for the good of all enthusiasts and clubs.

The thing is that geographically & historically were not going to change where LR is based, so these two UK based clubs are the first port of call when LR wants to talk about their history.

They have members from all over the world. We do special articles in the Register Club mag based on specific areas of interest and Africa and Oz always make people smile.

Last month LR kindly let me print half a dozen or factory drawings some of which development wise are very interesting.

I think LRO53 just wanted to let you know what we were up to.

    Nice to feel welcome.....

    So to keep the peace.

We ask the Mod of the S1 forum if we could move the Grenville thread to an open area so all can see.

    He said not a problem

And LRO53 is posting a number of adds in it from more old Oz dealers he has dug up and a few I had kicking about

    Enjoy
