Got my Series I SO bogged this morning - testing out my new bar tread 6.00x16s

Well - I haven't been bogged like this for quite a while

Fitted my new 6.00R16 mud tyres this morning and thought I'd take her for a spin around the front paddocks, which have had more rain through them this year than the last 3 or 4 years combined.

All was going well until I tried climbing out of a small creek. She was going nowhere. Diffs grounded out and probably bellied on the chassis too.

Had to call out the heavy artillery in the end. Gawd I love my Kubota in the mud!

    Pictures attached for your amusement.

    Cheers
    David

Thought I had her out after the first pull with the tractor, but she got bogged again withing a few metres. Had to go back again and hook up and have another go.

Anyway - now it's out and it needs a bit of cleaning up. Reckon it'll be a job for the pressure sprayer

    Hi there David...

Nice pictures - good to see the old trucks being used for what they were designed for OFFROAD not ONROAD.

Also nice to finally meet in person the other night at the Club Meeting.

    All the best

Hi there Wayne - nice to finally put a face to the name, as you say.

I like to take it off road and see what the old ones can do compared to the new ones. I went through the same creek in my Disco 1 earlier in the week and got through, but that had twin diff locks engaged and I think coils give you more of a chance than the leaf springs.

It is a work in progress. Next things on the list are to rebuild the carbie, find a choke cable, and sort out one of the front brake drums which is binding.

    Cheers

Lovely vehicle, spudboy - it looks sweet with the right tyres on too

One place that might be able to help you get what you need is the Series One shop in Newry, Victoria.....

As for the brake drums binding - Arhhhhhh - the terror - I hope your backing plates are on the right side .....
