    Missing Pieces, missing in action!

    Hi Everyone,

Since Hebe has been apart almost a year now I have the "where the heck did I put it" situation. I have searched high and low but no luck. Missing in action.... I am missing the following pieces and am looking for donors:

-Fuel filter seal. The seal (I believe it was cork?) for the glass fuel filter.

-Bracket. The frame for the canvas cover has four corner U-shape brackets to bolt the frame to the body. I am missing one of them. (Missing in Action)

-Two bolts and brackets to hold the wheel on the bonnet. (Missing in Action)

-Cover of Hella indicator switch / stalk. Same as in post 34 on my other thread here. Are there whole Hella indicator switches / stalks to be had??? (Missing in Action)

-Period rear benches/seats. Seems hard to find the right ones for a 88" from 1958.

-Replacement front seats. I am considering getting new front seats or making them myself. Any suggestions?

    -Water temperature thermometer/wiring.

The engine is going back in a few weeks from now and hopefully this is all that is missing.

Your referrals, assistance, help, and best of all, your donation, is much appreciated.

I bought some sheet gasketing cork from Coventrys and cut a gasket from it using a very sharp craft knife. This is a very easy and cheap repair to do yourself,

That is great. Can you help me a bit further... Since I have no original I do not know its thickness etc. Can you advice on this further?

    Thanks,

I recently made a fuel bowl gasket for a TED20 Fergie (same size) out of 3.2mm cork. Worked well. The cork I swear by has no black silicone/rubber in it though as that stuff sticks to everything and breaks easily, and I believe it reacts badly with petrol.

I reckon I could probably find a couple of spare tie down brackets for your softtop, but good seats (front or rear) aren't easy to find. I reckon they're probably easy to make (I did my 2A ones on a household sewing manchine), but it may be worth pricing them from Exmoor Trim in the UK while the exchange rate is favourable. In my travels seeking out old Landies I have yet to see a set of Series 1 rear seats. I'm not even sure if you could modify S2-3 units to fit, but I'm sure you could if you tried hard enough.
