Remember the drive shaft length will be dependent on which body, 80"; 86"-88" S1; 107"109" S1; 88" S1/SII/SIIa/SIII; 109" S1/SII/SIIa/SIII, but that is the main difference.

Note also the 80" had a trapdoor under the middle seatbox to operate a stubby PTO selector lever. All the later models had a lever mechanism which put the push-pull PTO selector knob through the heel-board of the seat box.

The result is that if you are prepared to have the prop shaft modified and possibly put a trapdoor in your seatbox, you can use the PTO on any series normal control model without an overdrive or front PTO winch.

No don’t agree again. I think All S1 should be accessed by a door under the centre seat. This door is not always there but if PTO was fitted so was the door.
Have original centre seat box with factory door from 86” 55 and 88" 58 model.

Have never seen the trapdoor on an 88" S1 and but they were present on all 80". Iain Reed has to pull up the seat base to access the PTO on his 88" S1 but the PTO on that came off a 1950 gearbox, so must have assumed the late S1's were the same as the SII.

Goes to show you, the times that I don't check the books the facts turn out to be furphys!

hi diana the the si 109 has a factory seat base fitted for pto control also the prop shaft is 2 piece also 2 and 2a and 3 had side lever because of the fixed seat regards jim happy xmas

hi diana i will source a seat base with the trap door for him to fit the 88 80 inch pto is the same they regards jim are a inter change unit
