how did you get the paint off? i have tried wet n dry, paint stripper sand blasting but none of them seem that great
Over the years I have tried all sorts of methods, don’t use sand it will damage the panels, they say soda is good.
My new best method go buy yourself a $200 sand blasting kit, 1 bag glass bead mix with a little walnut shell, large plastic tarp and 5 or 6 hours latter you will have completely clean S1.
Need plenty of air 12 cfm at least.
No damage to Al no paint striper all over the place and me, The bead and shell cost about $70 for 25KG of each and I still have 2/3rds of it left, lot cheaper then paint striper and a lot nicer.

Sounds good. Can you give more details of the blaster etc. Any pics.
Keith
yeah some more info/pics would be great iam always interested in anew techniques
I had a PM asking for more details, so I will post my reply here to:
Hi,
You need something like this, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10-GALLON...item1e713b7859.
If you use that link it should take you to eBay and a 10Gal blast kit. Sometimes you can get units a bit bigger with proper blasting taps which would be an improvement.
You will need at least 10cfm compressor to drive it.
Glass bead is about $35 a 25KG bag and walnut shell is a bit less I got mine from some lot in Melb. but just Google it lots of suppliers about.
Buy 1 or 2 really big cheap tarps to make up a blasting area so you can reuse the glass etc.
Make sure you screen it before putting back in the tank, fly wire works well.
Dennis
Link wont work for me as it says listing has been removed. No matter I will chase it up.
Thanks. Keith
