    Andamooka

    Hi all series 1 fans,

I drove down to Andamooka from Roxby Downs yesterday. Could not help notice several series 1 utes in need of restoration. Laying around in yards and an exceptional restorable one parked in a bit of muesem beside the road as you drive into town. I took a video of this one on my phone and will try and upload it. Anyone chasing a body and chassis to rebuild would be worth a look here. lots of series 2 also.

I had the chance to get that ute but it was a mines wardens ute in andamooka and is part of the history there. It is supposed to be a line of old machinery and equipment that opened and dug the place up but became an assembly of vehicles etc dropped in one spot. I did really want it but the history needs to be kept in places like that so..... (and it nearly killed me not getting it!)

there are photos of this one I posted on here previously...(somewhere!! it was a long time ago)

The taillights should stay with the vehicle!! (you are now a suspect wayne!! ) as hopefully everyone will respect it for what it is, its pretty complete with a very solid andamooka made bull bar and side bars. Has dual tanks and rear water tanks too! ((also a health warning, if caugt nicking bits in andamooka it can be VERY detrimental to your health and later Police may also be called!!!))

As for the others, its amazing how many locals refuse to sell or part with them... also a couple blitz lwb fire trucks there, they used to run but prob not now,--- and a studie tucked away with bomber wheels on it to do salt lake and desert tours.....I should know I lived there 4.5 years. Great town (hope you called into the tuckerbox for a feed- ask if they'll do a "lucia steak" for you, if they will its excellent!! (say gday from digger too!)

    Hi there Digger

I have no need for the tail lights - but was just commenting on that they are still there (nice pair of della's).

PS - I can say all the windows have been smashed.

    All the best

I have only been home for 6 days since the 4th Jan - so I havent had much time to do much yet.

I am planning to be home later this month, just running a new bunch of recruits through Under Ground Mines Rescue Training - and the weather 45-50 all last week now we are flooded?

    Well known

I should have known there where a few landrover people out here. I am working building a new tailings dam at roxby with Ertech. It appears this vehicle is well known and should stay where it is. Pity the windows are smashed. It is in very good nic otherwise. Its rained so much here ast few days I am flying out. I will keep my eyes open for any others in my travels. I wouldnt mind a series 1 myself.
