    Series 1 ring sets

This company I've never heard of :

Shop High Performance Piston Rings Online - Deves.com

With the aussie dollar peaking , its a good time to buy bits from the USA where this company is located.

    rings

    hi
Only my opinion. But I respectfully suggest that the US made rings would be of a better quality compared to the JP product. It took JP a while to get their act together and produce a decent product- their pistons had a doubtful reputation at one time with failures occuring . I did contact JP at one stage , they said they don't supply proper oil control rings , instead they supplied a normal ring to fit into the oil control groove . Not only that, but the staff member I spoke to a few times on the phone was less than polite .

I think knowledge of all options is good - let the buyer choose what suits them best.

    HASTINGS

The following is pasted from the Hastings rings catalogue .

    1951-54 Land Rover 69.50mm 2.736" 4cyl. Hastings set No. 5792

    8 - 1.75mm rings 4 - 2.25mm rings 4 - 4.0mm rings

This looks like a 4 ring per piston set .

They also have series one 2 litre rings listed in 3 or 4 ring sets

I know Hastings rings are popular with the muscle car fraternity !

Manufacturer of Hastings piston rings including Flex-Vent oil rings, compression rings and Hastings racing rings)

Most engine shops would order in a set for you .. depending on who you know you might get them for trade price ! Before ordering , I would check your pistons for groove width as I've noticed variations in the number of rings and ring width depending on the piston maker, there were quite a few aftermarket piston manufacturers , REPCO was one of them.

This must have been a fair while ago. When I first started buying rings from JP back in 2004, they definitely had proper oil rings.
