    brass

    Why not do acid etched brass ..it's very easy and cheap ? Anyone can do it at home , you use the stuff they etch circuit boards with, dick smith used to sell it and Jaycar electronics .

    You make a mask up , variuous ways of doing that .

    I'm pretty sure some 80" plates are etched brass.

    1948 models had etched brass.

    You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    1950

    The red shift plates on 1950 cars are etched brass with a chrome plating over the script. I cleaned one up and the tell tale yellow shows up in the background
