    Nice photo of a Grenville's 1948 Model

    Thanks Mike,

It's a late 1948 Model as it has the silver painted chassis. If you expand the photo you can see the Trafficator block on the passenger's side upper windscreen frame so it is after no 860730. Although it could be any number of the vehicles supplied to the NSW Department of Public Works it is more likely to be 862778 supplied to the Forestry Commission of NSW on 8/7/1949 as it is staed to be at the "New Cooranbong 60 foot fire watching tower in State forest reserve".

If you look at the passenger's side guard front you can see the diamond shaped Grenville Motors badge.

There are a few Land Rover pictures on file at the State Library of Victoria.

I wonder if this one still exists :-

I am wondering where the "Cooranbong 60 foot fire watching tower" is and if it is still there?

I doubt whether the tower would be still standing today, we used to have a fire watch tower near Cessnock, but with the demise of the Forestry Commission back in the 70's, it was taken down so I would imagine the 60ft tower at Cooranbong suffered the same fate, cheers Dennis
